Monthly Server Update – July`20

It's been a quiet month.

System update

pikaur -Syu --noconfirm

Pi-hole

Only Pi-hole needs a little maintenance. Actually even that is not really necessary. But let's stay up to date with the new Nginx configuration as well. I'll just add my one. Just compare it with yours.

server {
        listen 987 default_server;
        listen [::]:987 default_server;

        root /srv/http/pihole;
        server_name 192.168.1.141;

        autoindex off;

        index pihole/index.php index.php index.html index.htm;

        location / {
                expires max;
                try_files $uri $uri/ =404;
        }

        location ~ \.php$ {
                include fastcgi_params;
                fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root/$fastcgi_script_name;
                fastcgi_pass unix:/run/php-fpm/php-fpm.sock;
                fastcgi_param FQDN true;
#               auth_basic "Restricted"; # For Basic Auth
#               auth_basic_user_file /etc/nginx/.htpasswd; # For Basic Auth
        }

        location /*.js {
                index pihole/index.js;
#               auth_basic "Restricted"; # For Basic Auth
#               auth_basic_user_file /etc/nginx/.htpasswd; # For Basic Auth
        }

        location /admin {
                root /srv/http/pihole;
                index index.php index.html index.htm;
#               auth_basic "Restricted"; # For Basic Auth
#                auth_basic_user_file /etc/nginx/.htpasswd; # For Basic Auth
        }

        location ~ /\.ht {
                deny all;
        }
}
